"I would be honoured to be given the opportunity" said astronaut Chris Hadfield when asked if he would consider to go on a one-way mission to the planet Mars, in an interview on Reddit. Chris Hadfield has flown two Space Shuttle missions in 1995 and 2001.
I find the series of questions interesting in numerous ways, especially this one because his son is conducting the interview on Reddit and commented further saying "I'd be sad to see him leave, proud to see him go."
One more piece of space trivia I have learned from this interview is that astronauts see flashes of light behind closed eyelids due to cosmic radiation. Chris said that "It is beautiful and a stark reminder of the power of stars - like the Northern Lights."
